Water rates established by Council

Jul 27, 2010 No Comments by Mayor Wells

Village Council has established the preliminary water rates. The base rate is $50 per month and covers the first 2000 gallons of water used. Additional water is set at $5.00 per 1000 gallons. This rate will be used for the first 12 months of operation, during which time we will be studying our actual cost of operations. Council will address the rates after that time. Also, sewer rates will be adjusted to reflect water useage.

Those households with lower water use will then pay less for water and sewer service. The water and sewer systems are required by law to be self supporting. The amount of money collected must cover debt service and operational costs, plus provide a reserve for maintenance and repair.
